Happy Anniversary Bluebird Cafe!
Last night I had the honor of performing at The Bluebird Cafe’s 40th birthday celebration! This past weekend multiple events were held to celebrate, and Sunday night’s show at 3rd and Lindsley was the ultimate celebration of songwriters, country music, and the Bluebird Cafe’s special role in the Nashville songwriters community.
I have just started my journey as a member of the Bluebird family as a Golden Pick Winner, TN Songwriter’s Competition Finalist, and performing in regular shows (next one is July 3rd). So it really came as a shock to me when I received an email from the Bluebird a few weeks back where they asked me to be a part of the big show! Even more shocking than the invitation was the news that they wanted me to perform solo in one of their “Rising Talents” slots. Once I got confirmation that this wasn’t some fake, weird joke, of course I said I wouldn’t miss it!
I am so thankful that my dad flew in from Vermont for the show. This is by the far the biggest stage I’ve played on so it was really special to have him here. I’ve spectated a few shows at 3rd and Lindsley but never played there until now, so I was anxious and excited to step on the stage. When it was finally my turn, the anxiousness completely washed away and I performed two unreleased songs, both fan favorites at shows: “Kill Time” and “How a Man Treats a Lady”. HAMTAL will be my next single coming out in the next couple months.
I am overwhelmed by the support the Bluebird Cafe has shown over the last year and I can’t wait to continue to be a part of their family for years to come.
I’ll be sharing more details about last night, and reminiscing about my journey with them on tonight’s edition of my radio show, Nashville Now only on Amp! Cross Atlantic is also a part of the family and we’ll be chatting about their story too. Be sure to tune in tonight at 8pm CST on Amp.
When you plan your next visit to Music City, be sure to try to get a ticket to one of the many shows the Bluebird hosts every day!
