An Evening to #ENDALZ
As a lot of you know, I became an advocate for Alzheimer’s Awareness while working closely with the TN chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association these last few months. I first got connected with the incredible team after competing in this year’s TN Songwriters Week Competition (read more about that here). Since then, I have advocated at the TN State Capitol for the passing of the Colonel Thomas G. Bowden Memorial Act to approve a pilot program for respite care for caregivers, I have volunteered my time by performing for Volunteer events.
June is Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month, and during this month the Alzheimer’s Association holds its Longest Day campaign. Learn more here.
The Longest Day is the day with the most light — the summer solstice. On June 21, thousands of participants from across the world come together to fight the darkness of Alzheimer's through an activity of their choice. Together, they use their creativity and passion to raise funds and awareness for the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.
I have chosen to set my own goal to raise money for the Longest Day. With the release of my song “I Will Remember” I have lyric t-shirts for sale in which all proceeds are donated towards my goal. But thats not all, I will also be hosting a night of incredible music at one of Nashville’s best live music venues.
On Friday, June 24th, I will be performing, alongside Kat & Alex, Greylan James, and my good friend and co-writer Mark Elliott at The Listening Room Cafe in downtown Nashville. All ticket sales will be donated to my goal and I hope to raise more money throughout the night!
If you are in the Nashville area, or able to come enjoy a nice summer weekend, please join us Friday night. I promise you won’t want to miss this amazing lineup!
Get your tickets now before they sell out! Doors open at 8pm and the show starts at 8:30pm.
