This has been my most exciting week so far this year! I couldn’t decide what to talk about, so I’m just going to share everything!
MONDAY NASHVILLE NOW ON AMP
I started the week on Monday night with my newest tradition! I am now a co-host with my wife and two great friends, Karli and James from Cross Atlantic, of live radio-style show on Amazon’s newest app, Amp! The four of us put on a show Nashville Now every Monday night at 8pm CT where we talk about different topics going on in Nashville and the music scene, and we play some music! It’s a blast!

WEDNESDAY #ALZDAYONTHEHILL
Wednesday was a really special day for me and Francesca. We joined the Tennessee Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association for #ALZDayontheHill where we lobbied our state representatives to support a bill currently in both chambers. The Colonel Thomas G. Bowden Memorial Act would start a 3-year pilot program to provide state-funded respite care to Alzheimer’s caregivers in Tennessee. When we met with our district representative, he not only committed to sign on to the bill but he also pledged a significant donation to my Longest Day fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Association!
In the afternoon, there was a luncheon for all the advocates who came in from around the state to lobby their representatives. Their stories were devastatingly sad, but also hopeful that this bill will bring impactful change their lives and their families lives. I was invited to play my song “I Will Remember” for them.
It was such a honor to meet these incredible people. I’m looking forward to more opportunities to get involved and raise awareness with the Alzheimer’s Association.
THURSDAY WITH THE ALL YEAR BAND
Thursday night was really exciting because I had my first full band show in a few months. I always like getting a band together, hearing my songs with all this energy and fullness, and rocking the stage!
This was the first show ever with this new band of 3 new crazy-talented musicians. We had a prime slot at The Local in the West End of Nashville and so many of friends came out to support me! I played all new music highlighting a more mature sound. A lot of these songs will be coming out throughout the year.
FRIDAY I Will REMEMBER Release
Last, but certainly not least, I rounded out this eventful week with the release of my new song! I Will Remember is now available everywhere you stream music.
It feels so great to finally be putting new music out there, but it is even more special that it is this song. I never really thought I would ever release this song, but after all the feedback I got from audiences at multiple shows, and random people sharing their own stories with Alzheimer’s with me, I knew this song was meant to be out in the world. I am humbled that so many people have found solace with this song.
